In our continuing effort to improve and expand our product line with specific duty
fans, we are pleased to announce the following three new additions to our QSL Mixed
Flow product line.
QSLR - Restaurant Fan
The model QSLR is UL 762 listed for exhausting grease-laden air from kitchens, restaurants,
and cooking and dishwasher hoods. Standard features of the QSLR include a belt guard
with sealed belt tube, two cleanout doors located 180° apart, a 2" drain located
180° from the motor, and cooling fins on the wheel. UL 762 grease fans can be applied
in either a horizontal or vertical configuration providing that the grease is not
discharged down. The QSLR is also available in a roof mounted configuration with
discharge cap.
QSLSH - Smoke and Heat Fan
The model QSLSH is UL listed for smoke control systems for 500° F for 4 hours or
1000° F for 15 minutes. Standard features of the QSLSH include a belt guard with
sealed belt tube, a two-groove minimum drive, and cooling fins on the wheel. A vertical
roof mounted configuration features a discharge cap that meets UL 793 snow load
requirements for butterfly dampers, and a fusible link that melts when temperatures
reach 165°F, thereby forcing the dampers open.
QFE - Fume Hood Exhaust Fan
The model QFE is a modified QSL designed specifically for fumehood exhaust applications.
It features a discharge venturi and nozzle that allows discharge velocity requirements
to be met. Weather cover, belt tube, and access door are standard. Optional stack
extensions and mixing boxes with bypass dampers are available. The heavy-duty curb
cap allows the addition of stack extensions up to 10 feet without the need for guy
wires.
The Version 8.2 update to the Fan Selector Program is now available and includes
the model QSLR and QSLSH. The model QFE will be added to the Fan Selector in a future
update. For more information, please refer to
Bulletin 1060.
